Hillscripts™ • Effective: February 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Northeast Frontier, affiliated to Hillscripts (referred to as "the Platform," "We," or "Us"). By accessing or using our website, mobile applications, or any digital services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms").

Hillscripts is a hybrid media entity operating as a Digital Newsroom, Integrated Communication Partner, Creative Publisher, and Cultural Label. We are committed to empowering voices in the Northeast while maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity and creative respect.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use our Services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform following modifications constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

3. User Accounts & Registration

To access certain features of the Platform (such as posting comments, applying for creator partnerships, or purchasing merchandise), you may be required to register an account.

  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account, you must notify us immediately.
  • Eligibility: You must be at least 14 years of age to register. By using the Platform, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract.
  • Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion for violation of these Terms or for any other reason without prior notice.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

As a Publisher, the ownership of content is central to our business. Please read this section carefully.

A. Content Owned by Hillscripts

All content on the Platform—including news articles, editorials, videos, graphics, logos, trademarks, and code—is the exclusive property of Hillscripts or our content suppliers.

  • Restrictions: You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without our express written permission.
  • "Fair Use": You may share links of our articles for non-commercial purposes, provided you give appropriate credit to Hillscripts and link back to the original source.

B. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Hillscripts encourages community engagement through comments, forum discussions, and story submissions. By submitting content to the Platform:

  • License Grant: You grant Hillscripts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your submission.
  • Representation: You represent and warrant that you own the rights to the content you are submitting.
  • Liability: Hillscripts assumes no responsibility for monitoring or pre-screening UGC. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.

C. Hillscripts Originals (Merchandise & Literature)

When collaborating with us under our "Label" pillar:

  • Revenue Share: You acknowledge the agreed-upon revenue split model for collaborative works.
  • Rights: While Hillscripts handles distribution and sales, the underlying Intellectual Property remains with the Creator unless otherwise assigned in a written contract.

5. User Conduct & Community Standards

Hillscripts is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and culturally aware community for the Northeast. You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Violate Laws: Upload or transmit any content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates local or international laws.
  • Hate Speech & Discrimination: Promote violence, discrimination, or hatred. Given our focus on the Northeast, we have zero tolerance for sectarian hate speech.
  • Spam & Fraud: Impersonate any person or entity or manipulate identifiers.
  • Disrupt the Service: Flood the platform with repetitive high-volume posts or automated scripts.

Consequence of Violation: We reserve the right to remove offending content and ban users who repeatedly violate these community standards.

6. Advertising & Commercial Services

For clients utilizing our "Agency" and "Ad Space" services:

  • Accuracy of Info: You warrant that all information provided for advertisements is accurate and complies with applicable laws.
  • Payment Terms: All advertising fees and production costs must be paid in advance. Refunds are issued only if Hillscripts fails to deliver the agreed-upon service.
  • Content Standards: Advertisements must meet our aesthetic and quality standards. We reserve the right to reject ad creatives deemed offensive or misleading.
  • Cancellation: Cancellations of advertising campaigns must be made in writing at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled launch date.

7. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is critical to us. Please refer to our separate Privacy Policy page to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using our Services, you consent to such collection and use.

8. Disclaimers & Warranties

  • "As Is" Service: The Platform and all content are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Editorial Integrity: While we strive for accuracy in our Newsroom pillar, Hillscripts is not liable for any errors or omissions in news reports. Views expressed in op-eds do not reflect the views of Hillscripts.
  • Third-Party Links: The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We do not endorse or take responsibility for external sites.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hillscripts, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Meghalaya (Shillong).
